Terms of service

The rules for using ClipOnIt, in plain language: what you can do, what you pay, what stays yours.

Purpose

ClipOnIt is an online service that turns a long video or a YouTube link into short, reframed, captioned clips, available through the web interface, the REST API and the MCP server. By creating an account or using the free tool, you accept these terms.

Account

One account per person, with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your password, API keys and authorized connectors confidential. You must be at least 16 years old.

Acceptable use

You only upload content you own or are allowed to use. Importing from a YouTube link (or another platform) is your responsibility: you must comply with the source platform's terms of service and the authors' rights.

Prohibited: illegal or hateful content, sexual content involving minors, counterfeiting, quota circumvention (multiple accounts, abuse of the free tool), unauthorized access attempts, reselling the service without agreement.

Plans, payment, cancellation

Plans and quotas are described on the Pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed by Stripe, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically. You can cancel at any time from Billing: the subscription stays active until the end of the paid period.

No pro-rata refunds, except where required by law. EU consumers: you have a 14-day withdrawal right, unless you asked for the service to start immediately (first video processed), which waives that right for the current period.

The Free plan is offered without commitment; its quotas and retention (7 days) may change.

Affiliate program

Every account has a referral link. The referrer earns 30% of every payment made by their referrals, for life, as credit on their invoices or via PayPal from €20. Attribution by a 60-day cookie, one referrer per account, no self-referral, no paid advertising on the ClipOnIt brand. Fraud (fake accounts, stolen cards, spam): commissions voided and exclusion from the program.

Availability

ClipOnIt is provided "as is", in early access, with best efforts to stay available. Interruptions (maintenance, processor outage, an import blocked by the source platform) may happen without a service-level commitment.

Liability

You are solely responsible for the content you process and publish. To the extent permitted by law, ClipOnIt's liability is capped at the amounts you paid over the last 12 months and excludes indirect losses (lost profits, loss of data you did not back up).

Ownership

Your videos, transcripts and clips are yours. You grant ClipOnIt a limited licence, for the duration of processing and hosting, to store and analyze them and generate your clips. ClipOnIt, its code and its brand remain the publisher's property.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time by email. ClipOnIt may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after notice except in urgent cases (fraud, illegal content). Data is then deleted according to the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, an amicable solution is sought first; failing that, the courts of Nantes have jurisdiction, subject to the protective rules applicable to consumers.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top is authoritative. A significant change is announced by email 15 days before it takes effect; continued use of the service means acceptance.
